Stobart showdown: Logistics firm sues ex-boss Andrew Tinkler

Fresh salvoes were fired in the boardroom battle at Stobart on Friday as the logistics giant said it is suing Andrew Tinkler, the former boss of the firm who has himself threatened legal action.
A row at the Southend Airport owner started in May when executive director Tinkler said he would vote against chairman Iain Ferguson’s reappointment because of a dispute over strategy.
It has now emerged that Stobart Group has lodged a claim at the High Court seeking £3.8 million from Tinkler and former director William Stobart.
It is seeking the money for a tax payment linked with Stobart’s 2008 purchase of rail and civil engineering firm WA Developments, which was owned by Tinkler, then Stobart boss, and William Stobart. Stobart Group has paid the money to HMRC
